Smart meters proposed for Tasmania in a current government draft for public comment, Don Maisch, Jan. 19, 2015

Excellent discussion of the reality of supposed cost savings from smart meters. Although this is about the smart meter roll out in Australia, it applies to smart meters elsewhere as well. “Energy Minister Matthew Groom said…that the aim [of a smart meter program] was to drive down the cost of electricity prices for all Tasmanians. He saw the introduction of a […]

Is There Anything ‘Smart’ About Electric Smart Meters?

By BJ LIfe/Jonathan Libber, Jan. 8, 2015. Jonathan LIbber, president of Maryland Smart Meter Awareness, summarizes the many reasons why smart meters are not, in fact, such a smart idea.
“There is nothing smart about wireless smart meters. These meters are a threat to the health, dafety, and privacy of every single individual living in those sections of Maryland serviced by BGE, Pepco, Delmarva Power & Light, and SMECO….We therefore urge everyone to exercise his or her right to opt out. We also urge all residents to support legislation in the Maryland legislature to protect our right to opt out.”

Maryland’s “Bill of Rights” for the electric power companies

With the arrival of Wireless Smart Meters, many states have granted their electric power companies greatly expanded rights.  These expanded rights trample, in many ways, on rights that have been regarded as personal rights for a very long time. In the attached document, Dr. Ronald Powell provides a ratepayer’s view of the expanded rights granted […]

Health Argument for Replacing Wireless “Smart” Meters with Safe Metering Technology in Maryland

This document describes the health problems that the biomedical research community has found caused by exposure to the type of radiation — radiofrequency radiation (at microwave frequencies) — emitted by Wireless Smart Meters. These researchers work to protect the rest of us from harm, but we must be wise enough to listen. Health Argument for […]

Scientists Say…

  • Personally, I am very concerned for grave consequences that may ensue if exposure guidelines are not changed by global governments. I therefore urge them to immediately strongly reduce the guidelines for exposure to radiofrequency radiation (RF) and extremely low-frequency electromagnetic fields (ELF-EMF). It is high time to ask ourselves: What happens when we, 24-hours around the clock, wherever we are, allow ourselves and our children to be used as guinea-pigs, whole-body-irradiated for the rest of our lives? In not doing so our politicians and health administrators may put us all at stake, since this is the largest human full-scale experiment ever! Olle Johansson, PhD
