I live in a condo in Seattle WA. In Two weeks they are going to put smart meters in my building. I live right above the meters. I’m trying to figure out a way that I can get help to have all 44 units get together, so they can hear just how awful these meters are. Could you send me some help on what I can do. Do you have any speakers in Seattle that could come to our condo an speak on the dangers of these smart meters.

What do you know about the ERT’s? BGE showed up at my friend’s house this week (4/28/16) and was replacing her analog with a smart meter. Fortunately she was home and stopped them. There was no notification at all. They told her that her analog was not working properly. She had NO idea. They returned the next day (4/29/16) and told her that they were replacing her meter with a new one. She told them an analog and they said yes. She checked later and here they did not replace the analog with an analog but an ERT. There was no notification! This smells funny…it is indeed a scam! She called and spoke to a BGE rep regarding what had happened. She was told that all analogs were being replaced with ERT’s. When I called to ask that question, it was not known why. There is something really wrong here! BGE should not be showing up and replacing an analog meter with a smart meter with a documented opt-out resident who pays all the fees for it. There was a work order that my friend saw. She couldn’t believe it! If there was truly a problem with her analog why wasn’t she made aware of it???? They just showed up…thank God she was home!!!! Otherwise, she would have had a smart meter which she is an opt-out customer!!
Please let me know what you know and what can be done about this!

FYI-there is a post going around on facebook showing who voted to kill HB332, which would have ended the opt-out fees. Remember this when you vote! Hope the link works!
